The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky (1999)

The Perks of Being a WallflowerThis gem of a novel is told through a series of letters written by Charlie and spanning his first year of high school. An observant introvert, Charlie is taken under wing by two free-spirited upperclassman, Sam and Patrick. Experiences are had, feelings are explored and drama ensues. It’s all very poignant and veracious and absorbing. It’s a quick read and I’m was equally delighted the movie adaptation that Chbosky wrote and directed as well.
